About - Raised on 90's punk rock and indie, as a teenager I learned my trade in rock bands, before becoming a solo artist. Influenced by Blink-182, Frank Turner, Springsteen, Stiff Little Fingers, and The Gaslight Anthem, to name but a few, I have created my indie punk style, and write songs about life, love, ups, downs, and everything in between. A self-released EP "The Fight" landed in 2016, and I have since taken my live show to the next level with the addition of my backing band... "Adam Grant & The Open Doors"

At a songwriters contest, I crossed paths with the legendary Godfather of ulster punk, Terri Hooley, who offered me a recording opportunity. The latter end stage of 2017 was spent in the studio, and resulted in the release of my debut album MY WORLD on April 30th, 2018. Since its release, album tracks have been playlisted on radio stations in the UK, Ireland, the USA, and Australia. Live performances have taken place in London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and The 10th annual Atlantic Sessions Festival in Portrush. My World was nominated for the 2018 NI Music Prize album of the year, and the 2018 RTE Choice Music Irish album of the year. As of August 2019, My World is now officially stocked in HMV, Belfast. In August 2019 I supported XSLF, featuring Henry Cluney and Jim Reilly from Stiff Little Fingers, at their new album preview show.

In September 2019 I was nominated for 'Best Live Act' and 'Best Newcomer' at the 2019 NI Music Prize Awards.

In October 2019 I supported the award-winning Blue Carpet Band from London on their Irish tour. My second album "In My Bones" is set for release in late 2020. (Coronavirus depending)

About the Song - "Closed Doors" is a track from my debut album My World. It references my home town of Comber, and is about not closing the door on a good experience. This is a slower track that I tend not to perform live with The Open Doors, so I felt it would be nice to revisit it for this compilation.
